Sunset Concerts at Skirball Cultural Center


 

 


Adding to an-already vibrant summer calendar, the Skirball Cultural Center is continuing their free music series - Sunset Concerts - every Thursday throughout July and August.

Come hear deeply introspective, experimental sounds from Thao and the Get Down Stay Down this Thursday, enjoy the effortless appeal of Brooklyn-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Sinkane on 7/28, and rediscover America through the eyes and ears of the eight-piece, New York–based M.A.K.U. Sound system (8/11).

Schedule:
Thao and the Get Down Stay Down (July 21); Sinkane (July 28); Thalma de Freitas (August 4); M.A.K.U. Soundsystem (August 11); Music Maker Blues Revue (August 18); and Shai Tsabari and the Middle East Groove All Stars (August 25).


All concerts begin at 8:00 p.m. FREE; no reservations:
Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets and limited seating on a first-come, first-served basis

Parking: $10 per car (cash only; street parking strictly prohibited or take Metro Rapid 734. Carpooling is encouraged!

Helpful tips: Concertgoers must show a parking stub in order to get entry tickets to the concert. Please remember to bring the stub with you after you park. Taking a taxi or car service? Ask the driver to drop you off at the front steps so a Skirball staff member can provide you with a ticket.


Arrive early to dine, shop, and view the exhibitions!
Starting at 6:00 p.m., Zeidler’s Café offers a delicious Sunset Supper. Grab-and-go light fare and full bar service are also available during the concerts. Audrey’s Museum Store is open until 8:00 p.m., and all Skirball galleries (except Noah’s Ark) are FREE until 10:00 p.m.

Note: No outside alcoholic beverages, glass containers, glassware, or chairs permitted.
