Dr. Dre's ultimate sports headphones

Famed producer Doctor Dre has revamped and remixed so many records, it should come as no surprise to anyone that he’s now redoing something else: Headphones for those otherwise engaged in some sort of sporting activity.

The business itself is nothing new for Dre who already has a line of luxury headphones - Beats by Dr. Dre - in collaboration with Interscope chairman and new 'American Idol' staffer Jimmy Iovine.

Of his new sports line, LeBron’s PowerBeats headphones, in partnership with American basketball star LeBron James, Drew said, "I've been wearing the prototype for PowerBeats in the gym every day for the last few months, so I can honestly say they're the best headphones for working out. We worked with LeBron to make sure these would be the ultimate headphones for athletes. I'm always about the performance, the sound, and LeBron brought what he needed in terms of function to the table."

Dre met reporters on Wednesday at a Best Buy shop in New York and answered questions including one about his long-delayed album, 'Detox'. Dre had announced as long ago as 2002 that it would be his third and last album.

He said, "I'm really trying to make Christmas, but we'll see ... Something will definitely be out. I'm actually working on it every day. I just have to make sure I don't accomplish this word: anticippointment."
