Dua Lipa drops music video for catchier than hell single, "New Rules"

Dua Lipa has dropped her music video today (July 7) for her latest single "New Rules".

The single is about wanting to move on from an ex and "keeping your distance from someone who is bad for you."

The 21-year-old London-born star told the BBC: "I'm setting some rules down so [that I] won't go back to that person." When asked to clarify what they were, Lipa replied:

"One: Don't pick up the phone, you know he's only calling 'cause he's drunk and alone. Two: Don't let him in, you'll have to kick him out again. Three: Don't be his friend, you're only going to wake up in his bed in the morning. And if you're under him, you ain't over him!"

Dua Lipa released her self-titled, 12-track debut album last month on June 2, which she says is "a lot about empowerment and being proud of who you are".

The young singer made the UK's Official Top 40 Biggest Songs of 2017 so far, with "Be The One" and her Martin Garrix collaboration "Scared To Be Lonely". She has also charted in the United States, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, Australia and Brazil.

The pop star made her debut appearance on Good Morning America and at Glastonbury recently, and is fresh off the stage from her British Summertime Hyde Park performance. She is also gearing up to join Bruno Mars on selected dates this year for his 24K Magic World Tour.
