Sir Elton John has confirmed a fresh batch of UK live dates as he prepares to tone down his touring commitments.

The singer and musician is well known for regularly playing live across the world.

However, the Brit has announced plans to say "thank you" to UK audiences next year as he spends more time with his family.

John has confirmed three dates in England so far for June, with more gigs set to follow.

The shows will be held in Lincoln, Leicester and Exeter.

The 68-year-old musician, who has two children with David Furnish, commented: "The simple truth is I want to spend more time with my family, and I am only too aware of just how precious the time ahead is.

"My sons are growing up so quickly; their early years are just flying by and I want to be there with them.

"So these concerts will give me the chance to thank the British audiences who have been so faithful to me over these many decades. We cannot get to everyone, but I am going to try.”

Tickets will go on sale from 10am on October 23. Check out the schedule below:

• June 11th 2016 - Leicester County Cricket Ground 
• June 19th 2016 - Exeter Westpoint
