Sir Elton John confirms three 2014 UK shows

Sir Elton John has announced a trio of UK shows due to take place next year.

The veteran music man will play in Leigh, Nottingham and Colchester in June.

He will hit the Sports Village Stadium in Leigh on June 21 before travelling to Nottingham's Capital FM Arena three days later.

John will then play at Colchester's Community Stadium on June 29. He is then scheduled to perform a series of dates in Germany.

Speaking about his new UK shows, Elton said: "As I have said when asked about the song 'Home Again' on my new album, 'The Diving Board', there is something very special to me about coming home.

"I’ve been all around the world and I truly enjoy playing my music for fans everywhere I can, but I do so look forward to coming back home to England, especially every Summer when I get to perform in places I have never played before, like Leigh and Colchester. And Nottingham has always been a special place for me, as I first played there all the way back in 1967 as a member of Bluesology, on the same bill as Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Cliff!"

Tickets for the three dates will go on sale from Friday (November 8).

John meanwhile released his latest album 'The Diving Board' on September 16, with the record hitting No.3 in the UK.
