Eminem to perform at Wembley Stadium this summer

Rap superstar Eminem has confirmed that on July 11 he will return to the UK for a one-off headlining concert at London's Wembley Stadium.

He made the exciting announcement earlier tonight (May 6) during an interview with Zane Lowe on his Radio 1 show and explained that it's very likely this will be a stand alone event: "I know Wembley Stadium's huge. I'm not saying I'll never be ready for that (touring) again, but right now, this is what's working for me."

The 'Lose Yourself' hitmaker went on to add that working with musicians on his stage show means it has a bigger and more involved feel for the audience: "It's definitely better. It definitely brings a whole new element to it... There's a whole different energy. It's louder, it's more in your face, it's more explosive."

Eminem will become the first rapper in history to headline Wembley Stadium, which is a 90,000-capacity venue. Tickets for the show will go on sale at 9am on Friday, May 9.

He shared a post via his official Instagram page this evening, which can be seen above left, and accompanied it with the caption: "Never mind the bollocks...see you soon London."
