Rap star Eminem has joined instagram and posted his first picture.

The ‘8 Mile’ star appears in the photo on a laptop screen with the middle fingers on both hands raised towards the camera, his face in shadows. The caption to the picture was simply a link to Eminem’s website.

The arrival on the site comes only a few weeks after the release of ‘Survival’ off of his upcoming eighth studio album ‘Recovery’.

The instagram profile seems a long time coming as Eminem is not exactly a social media novice. Last year, he became the first person to reach 60 million friends on facebook.

The rapper is set to headline Reading Festival this weekend.
