Eminem: 'Fame was a tough demon to face'

Rap heavyweight Eminem has revealed that being famous has been an incredibly tough experience and he thinks it can probably be held accountable for the rougher periods in his adult life.

Speaking to the Rolling Stone about his stardom, the 'Stan' superstar explained that he's always on edge and watching the topics he talks about, which isn't really the best way to live:

"Obviously now I know I'm famous. In my head, those are the kind of demons that I fight against, like 'f**k, man, how famous am I? I shouldn't say this, I shouldn't say that."

He also opened up about his battle with alcohol and narcotics, admitting that while he can't directly blame fame for his addictions he does think it played a part in his destructive behaviour:

"I'm not saying I wouldn't have become an addict if I never got famous. It was more about 'I need this onstage' I can't handle this many people looking at me'. I always joke that it's a hell of a career choice for somebody that doesn't really like attention."
