Example front-page news in Wigan after "insulting entire town" on Twitter

Example has apparently angered the "whole town of Wigan" following a message he posted on Twitter.

The music maestro, noted for his jovial sense of humour on the social networking website, originally tweeted: "What Twitter needs is a block button for the whole of Wigan, most of the abuse I get comes from Wigan. Are there any nice people in Wigan?"

The 'Say Nothing' star then deleted the tweet, before adding: "Tweeted earlier about how most abuse I get on twitter is from people in Wigan. Unsurprisingly this has resulted in more abuse...from Wigan."

It then emerged that Example had made front-page news on local newspaper Wigan Evening Post, which claimed that the singer had "insulted the whole town".

As previously reported, Example recently opened up on the abuse he receives on Twitter, revealing: "Someone said to me the other day: 'I'm going to come to your gig in Belfast and set fire to you'. People tell me they're going to beat me up, stab me, spit on me."
