After a long hiatus American Hi-Fi, best known for the global hits "Flavor Of The Weak", "Another Perfect Day" and "The Art Of Losing", make their long-awaited return to the UK with a very special gig at London's legendary 100 Club on May 7th. This will be the first time the band has performed in the UK since their sold-out 2005 tour with Bowling For Soup.

Formed in Boston in 1998 by former Veruca Salt / Letters To Cleo drummer Stacy Jones, American Hi-Fi quickly became alternative rock radio staples with multiple hit singles from their Bob Rock-produced debut album and its follow up "The Art Of Losing". Influenced by power-pop titans Cheap Trick and infusing the grittier elements of My Bloody Valentine and The Pixies, American Hi-Fi provided the soundtrack to a generation of rock fans across the world.

The band's self-titled debut album spawned the timeless hits "Flavor Of The Weak" and "Another Perfect Day", both accompanied by iconic videos that remain in rotation on music channels today. The drum-driven title track of the follow-up release, "The Art Of Losing" was yet another anthem that is still as instantly recognisable today was it was back in 2003.

In 2005 the band toured the UK with Texan pop-punks Bowling For Soup in support of their Butch Walker-produced album "Hearts On Parade". Drawing on the classic British pop sounds Elvis Costello, The Kinks and The Beatles, the album had a lighter feel yet still retained Hi-Fi's trademark pop-rock hooks. A single, "The Geeks Get The Girls", was released to coincide with the UK tour while a track that didn't make the album, "The Rescue", was included on the soundtrack and trailers for the movie "Superman Returns", earning the band radio airplay into 2006.

That year, American Hi-Fi began work on their latest album to date. The release of "Fight The Frequency" was preceded by demos available exclusively on the band's Myspace page but label struggles delayed the finished album, which eventually saw the light in 2010 along with an iTunes EP.

Since then, singer Stacy Jones has been busy touring the world with Miley Cyrus as her drummer and musical director alongside his fellow American Hi-Fi alumnus Jamie Arentzen. Stacy has also undertaken drum duties for US rock supergroup Matchbox Twenty, most recently touring the UK and Europe with the band in 2013 while Jamie has toured Japan as part of Butch Walker's band.

This special gig in London takes place in the middle of the mammoth Miley Cyrus "Bangerz" world tour and gives the band the perfect opportunity to light the touchpaper on the release of their as-yet-untitled follow-up album. Recorded in 2013, the album is due for release later in the year and the 100 Club audience will be the first to hear a taste of it in addition to a setlist packed with classics that will take you back to what many consider to be a pinnacle era of US pop-rock.
