Mark Sullivan embarks on two UK tours in lead-up to first single and EP release

Herts-based singer-songwriter takes inspiration from recording in America and embarks on two UK tours in lead-up to first single and EP release.

After an inspired trip to the US in 2016 to make a record in Bruce Springsteen's hometown with acclaimed producer, Steve Greenwell, Hertfordshire-born singer-songwriter, Mark Sullivan, is gaining some serious musical momentum. He recently   embarked on a Coffee House Tour across the UK's universities, this follows with a Caffè Nero Tour this month, all in the lead-up to the release of his first single, Warm Your Bones, taken from his forthcoming EP ‘Still Good For Nothing’ out March 10th.

Warm Your Bones is written from a man's prospective of when he is in love and in a long-term relationship.  He is explaining that throughout everything; the arguments, the ups and downs, that none of it matters.  All that matters is that he loves her and would do anything for her.  To accompany the beautiful guitar driven, timeless pop classic is the equally beautiful accompanying video shot by up and coming filmmakers Tusko Pictures.  It does exactly what it says on the tin - ‘Warm Your Bones’.

Sullivan is no stranger to live performance; he's been a working musician for some 20 years, and has shared stages with major names at big UK festivals including Isle of Wight and Big Feastival.

On stage, he is something to behold; his performances are laden with cool effects and sounds, which complement his rich, powerful vocals. He makes particularly good use of his loop pedal, which has become somewhat of a Mark Sullivan trademark. It also generates that fuller sound, to the extent where it becomes quite unbelievable that it is, in fact, just one man and his guitar.

“I've always been a band guy, so I like to fill my sound out as much as I can; I'd love to put a band together someday, but for now, it's more of a one man band,” he smiles, adding that he hopes to don the same festival stages and more this summer. “After the experience of making the album in the US, I am looking at things with a little more focus; we have a booking agent on board now, and a real 'plan', so things are looking bright; it's now a case of making it all happen.”

Which all started at the University of Essex on January 16th, his first Coffee House performance. From there, Sullivan descends on a string of Student Union gigs across the country including Holloway, Queen Mary University London, Bedford University, Bath and Bath Spa Universities, Loughborough, Nottingham, Lincoln, and Bradford.

“I'm also playing [venues] in Camden and Hackney during that period, and then we have a packed out February including a date at The Bedford in Balham for Independent Venues Week, which should be a good one,” Sullivan reveals.

On March 10th, the single for Warm Your Bones will drop, taken from the three-track EP Still Good For Nothing.  March also sees Sullivan embark on a second tour, performing at a string of Caffè Neros, which have proved a great nurturing ground for many rising stars across the UK.

Sullivan remains positive, yet humble, about what might happen next.

“I've been gigging since I was 14, so I know nothing is a given in this business, but maybe now is my time,” he reflects. “After the single, we will release the EP which is called Still Good For Nothing. The title is a little tongue in cheek, as for me, there is no backup plan, and this all literally could be good for nothing! But on the other hand, this could be the beginning of the rest of my life. So now it's all about me connecting my music with the right audience, and hopefully that's what will happen.”

Mark Sullivan releases his single Warm Your Bones taken for the EP Still Good For Nothing on March 10th.
