Florence + The Machine reveal new song and album details

Florence + The Machine have debuted a new track.

The group released the song 'What Kind of Man' on Thursday (February 12).

It is the first tune to be taken from the band's forthcoming album 'How Big How Blue How Beautiful'.

The record will be released on June 1 and it has been produced by Markus Dravs.

A video for 'What Kind of Man' has been debuted on YouTube.

Speaking about the group's album, singer Florence Welch said:

"Markus has done a few Arcade Fire albums, and he's done Björk's 'Homogenic', which is a huge record for me.

"I felt he had that balance of organic and electronic capabilities, managing those two worlds. And, you know, he's good with big sounds. And l like big sounds. And he's good with trumpets, and I knew I wanted a brass section on this record.

"I wanted to make something that was big but that had a gentleness to it. That had a warmth, that was rooted. I think that's why we went back more to the live instruments. Something that was band-led almost."

The group meanwhile were today (February 13) confirmed to play at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Norwich on May 23.
