Florence Welch has said that cutting back on drink has improved her voice

Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine has said in an interview with The Sun that her drink ban while the band are touring has improved her voice.

The flame-haired songstress is currently preparing for the release of her second album, 'Ceremonials', on Hallowe'en (October 31) and she says that not drinking improves her voice and performance:

"I have stopped drinking on tour. I feel a bit more responsibility for my body and for my fans who come to see us. I had shows every day and I can't do that with a hangover. So I've been good to myself. This is the best job in the world and I don't want to spoil it. Stopping drinking has made a huge difference to my vocal range too".
