Florence Welch found X Factor performance "so frightening"

Florence Welch has revealed that performing live on The X Factor last year was one of the most frightening things she has ever done in her impressive career.

The flame-haired songstress, who fronts Florence and the Machine, appeared on the talent contest back in November to treat the audience and viewers alike to a rousing rendition of 'Shake It Out', but was "freaking out" the whole time.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she explained: "Just before it (The X Factor) went live one of the dancers' dresses got ripped and the stylist had to run on stage as they were counting down to the start."

"I had to stay really still and it was one of the most high-pressured things I've ever done. I was freaking out inside - it was so frightening. We all talked about how much could go wrong - I'm surprised more doesn't happen with live TV performances."
