Young cancer victim to be immortalised in special Florence and the Machine release

A young Florence and the Machine fan who passed away from cancer in 2010 is set to be immortalised on the cover of a special 7 inch single due to be released by the band.

20-year-old Natalie Roberts passed away after suffering from the rare Ewing's Sarcoma, and her friend Louise Clifford had painted a picture of her to commemorate Roberts one year after she died.

Clifford had spotted a competition run by the Teenage Cancer Trust asking for people to submit a picture for use on the single, which will be a re-release of 'Only If For a Night'.

And Clifford's beautiful painting was eventually picked as the winner of the competition, much to the delight of Roberts' family. Speaking about the good news, Clifford told the Daily Mail:

"Her mum was over the moon with it and when I read about the competition it all seemed to fit in. The drawing I'd done linked in with the Florence and the Machine lyrics really well. The song is all about a celestial being - someone who's passed away - and Florence felt inspired by them in the same way I was inspired by Natalie. It is fitting for her to be celebrated on a record cover for an artist she loved."
