Florence bans booze from live shows

Florence and the Machine star Florence Welch has reportedly banned alcohol backstage at her live shows.

The 'You've Got The Love' singer allegedly implemented the ban after her mother complained about her climbing stage equipment and dangling 30 feet in the air during her set. "My climbing is all to do with whisky," she told the Daily Star. "If I drink, then it sends me totally loopy. Now I have banned alcoholic drinks on my rider before gigs. I think it's safer that way and it pleases my mum, who's convinced I am going to fall and kill myself."

Florence and the Machine secured a second week at the top of the UK album chart with debut album Lungs on Sunday.
