Florence and The Machine star Florence Welch has admitted that she is not a fan of the video for her debut single.

The singer told The Guardian that she was yet to find her own style in the clip, which features her in a floral blouse, striped black stockings and a purple miniskirt which blows up several times to show off her red knickers.

Welch said of the video: "I really didn't like it. It was just too nice. Too pretty. Too, 'Wheeee! La-la-la!'. Not visceral enough. I saw that video, and I was like, 'That's not it! That's not what I'm supposed to be'. "The aesthetic came along the way, I think - just through experimenting, and going on tour, and trying stuff out on stage, having fun with it, and not taking it too seriously. "If I had a ballgown at home, I'd wear it on stage. If I found something in a charity shop, I'd wear it. That's where it grew from - just wanting to play dress-up." Of her mother's effect on her work, she added: "Visually, she's influenced me really strongly. Took me to a lot of churches, a lot of art galleries. Really taught me how to appreciate art, and how to describe it, which is very important."
