Neon Indian performs "The Glitzy Hive" for Pitchfork's GP4K SeriesVIDEO: "The Glitzy Hive" - Pitchfork / YouTube
Pitchfork and GoPro have shared the latest installment of GP4K, the video series captured exclusively with the GoPro HERO4 Black. Following Mac Miller's "Clubhouse", it's the second in a series of eight videos curated and produced by Pitchfork that reimagine the way GoPros are used in the context of live music. Using eight songs as their guides, Pitchfork's team of directors and cinematographers tell stories that challenge the conventions of the medium and kick-start discussions on what live music video can be. For the latest installment, Neon Indian performs his VEGA INTL. Night School track "The Glitzy Hive". Director/editor Jim Larson shot the band performing the track with a psychedelic homage to "Soul Train" choreographed by Brooklyn-based performance duo FLUCT. GoPro cameras were placed strategically throughout the space. Rather than use traditional camera operators, the GoPros were attached to gimbals, which were then mounted to the dancers and Alan Palomo to capture the performers' unique perspectives. Also, ICYMI, the week of Thanksgiving, Neon Indian's Alan Palomo was featured on two excellent podcasts, No Effects which was created by the band Tanlines, and in conversation with Martin Rev of Suicide for The Talkhouse podcast. A Martin Rev / Neon Indian remix track is forthcoming soon, which was announced for the first time via this podcast. Neon Indian is currently on tour in Asia and is supporting its third full-length LP, VEGA INTL. Night School. BUY VEGA INTL.
