Scottish prog/tech-metallers Giant launch debut EP 'Chronos // Kairos'

Far-flung Scottish prog/tech-metallers Giant have released their debut EP 'Chronos // Kairos' online today (August 28).

The two-track effort is available for purchase or streaming from iTunes, Bandcamp, Spotify and Deezer (links below).

Conjoined by a mutual appreciation of distortion, outside-the-box-thinking and flannel shirts, Giant - comprised of guitarist Jamie Hatch and bassist Chris Cope - are Britain’s most northerly prog/tech-metal band.

The Shetland duo unleashed their self-released debut EP ‘Chronos // Kairos’ on August 28 - a two-track effort that’s a rollercoaster of plunging breakdrowns, prog exploration and epic grandeur.

Opener ‘Chronos’ is over six minutes of metal bombast, channelling wild western hues in the middle of the track, while flagship song ‘Kairos’ - which clocks in at over ten minutes - is an adventure through up-down dynamics that’s both accessible and challenging.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Between The Buried And Me, Every Time I Die and The Dillinger Escape Plan, Giant - whose members feature in many other local Shetland acts - create a big sound; pun most definitely intended.
