Gary Barlow's revealing fan question and answer session

Gary Barlow has spent this afternoon hosting a live question and answer session with fans through Glamour magazine's official Twitter account and opened up about The X Factor, his career as a songwriter and his plans for the future.

When asked about how much involvement he had in the decision to bring back previously eliminated acts from this season's X Factor to compete for a place in the final he admitted "nearly none really but it's a good idea."

The Take That star also revealed that upon being asked to be a judge on this year's show he was "excited but not too excited (and) had to ask the real head judge", his wife, and also admitted that if X Factor was around when he was trying to break into music he would have auditioned with the classic Lionel Richie song, 'All Night Long'.

He also admitted that Elton John is his biggest inspiration, the one song he wrote that he wishes he had kept for himself is "'This Time' for Shirley Bassey", and the acts he thinks have the best chance at winning The X Factor are "Craig, Marcus, Misha".
