Gary Barlow asks Prince Harry to sing on Diamond Jubilee track

Gary Barlow has asked Prince Harry to perform on a special song to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Press Association reports that the pair met in Jamaica, with Barlow taking the opportunity to ask the Prince if he would like to take part in the track, which is co-written by Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Barlow is travelling the Commonwealth to acquire performances from musicians to include in the special song and met Prince Harry at an education and skills centre in Kingston. He is reported to have asked:

"I've started the Diamond Jubilee song and we're hoping to get you on a track."

Prince Harry is said to have brushed off the idea by saying that he "can't sing", before Barlow suggested he could play the tambourine.

Speaking about Prince Harry's possible involvement, Barlow said:

"I'm sure we'll get him, he'll do it for the cause. We've not got experienced artists on this record we've got undiscovered people, we're going from Australia to Kenya and the Solomon Islands. It's all being recorded on a laptop, when we get back to London we're going to Abbey Road studios to mix it."
