George Michael to release 'Symphonica' album

George Michael has confirmed plans to release a new album this spring.

The Wham! man will unleash 'Symphonica' on March 17 as he follows up his last studio effort, 2004's 'Patience'.

The record was cut to tape during the singer's tour of the same name in 2011 and 2012. It is due to feature covers such as Roberta Flack's 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' and Elton John's 'Idol'.

The album was co-produced by Michael and Phil Ramone - however, the latter died of a brain aneurysm in March last year.

'Symphonica' will be released in a 14-track standard edition as well as a hardback deluxe 17-track CD version.

The singer's track 'Praying For Time' meanwhile can be downloaded from Michael's website from today (January 20).
