The family of late singer George Michael has refused to comment on speculation surrounding the star's death on Christmas Day.

The music icon passed away at the age of 53 from reported heart failure, but a recent post-mortem was proved to be inconclusive and more tests are now taking place.

Speaking in a statement released to Buzzfeed, the family of Michael said they don't want to comment on the star's death at this time. His partner Fadi Fawaz's Twitter account posted that the singer had killed himself, but the hairdresser said his account had been hacked.

Michael's family said: "In the week since his tragic death there has been much comment and speculation concerning George and the circumstances surrounding his death. There will inevitably be more in the future. The family remain devastated by his passing and have no wish to comment in relation to any such speculation, whether current or in the future.”
