'Glee' breaks phenomenal singles chart record

The Golden Globe award-winning cast of 'Glee' have become the fastest ever act (solo or group) to achieve 20 top 40 charting single releases.

The Official Charts Company have confirmed:

"The Glee Cast has taken just 57 weeks to achieve 20 Top 40 hits in the Official Singles Chart with their first hit Don’t Stop Believin’ peaking at number two in January 2010 and their twentieth, Toxic, entering the Official Singles Chart this week at number 40.   The previous record holder, Elvis Presley, took 88 weeks to reach 20 Top 40 hits, back in the fifties. The Glee Cast’s total includes three Top 10s and six Top 20s."

This amazing feat comes as the cast, who recently took home a grand total of 3 Golden Globes, are nominated for Best International Breakthrough Act at the 2011 BRIT Awards.
