'Glee Live! In Concert!' to hit movie theatres

American Gleeks who are unable to attend dates on the 'Glee Live! In Concert!' tour will be relieved to know they will be given the chance to see the stage show at cinemas across the U.S this summer.

Fox's film and television studios have teamed up with the tour's production company and Ryan Murphy to create a 3D cinematic experience for fans who are not able to go to the concerts. The movie, which will be called 'Glee Live! 3D!', is set to be directed by Kevin Tancharoen who also worked exclusively on the recent remake of 'Fame'.

The film will be released into theatres across the U.S for a limited 2-week run starting from August 12 and will feature 14 members of the show's talented young cast including Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer.

Ryan Murphy, creator of 'Glee', released a statement on the news which read:

"We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three dimensional glory. We promise every passionate ‘Gleek’ a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles.”

No information has been released yet on whether the same is likely to be done when 'Glee Live! In Concert!' hits the UK in June, but you can watch the cast's performance of 'Marry You' by Bruno Mars here:
