Glee's cover of 'Smooth Criminal' heading for chart success

Glee's cover of Michael Jackson's 'Smooth Criminal' has made such a significant impact on the download charts that it has the potential to be the show's best-selling song from its third season.

Billboard.com reports that it could shift between "80,000 to 100,000 downloads by the end of the tracking week on Feb. 5" and is likely to debut in the Digital Songs chart Top 20. Speaking about working on the song, cast member Grant Gustin (Sebastian Smythe) explained:

"It is an unbelievable honor to even get to be a part of such a legendary song by the one and only Michael Jackson on one of America's favorite TV shows. I had a blast doing this song with Naya Rivera and the positive response from the fans is an unexpected bonus to an already surreal opportunity."

The tribute episode did incredibly well and the cast's rendition of the King of Pop's iconic hits prompted La Toya Jackson to publicly praise the show and its performers for such a fantastic homage.
