New British 'Glee' actor hopes to bring a UK vibe: 'I'd love to do some Ed Sheeran'

Wales-born actor Oliver Kieran-Jones, who was recently cast in 'Glee' as Kurt Hummel's new love interest at NYADA, has revealed that he would love to bring more of a UK influence into the show.

Speaking exclusively to Billboard about portraying the character Adam Crawford, the head of NYADA's glee club, he explained that it would be great to include more songs by British hitmakers:

"I'd love to do some British influenced stuff, some Ed Sheeran. My voice is more funky, soul I feel. I'd like to do something with an edge to it. I've always sung, I've got quite a bit of range."

He also opened up about his whirlwind audition for the well-loved FOX series and confessed that he originally read the script in an American accent, but was asked to keep the British intonation so he tried out with a British song:

"Originally I went in and read in American because they didn't know I was British, then they asked me to try it in British. Based on that, once I knew that the character could be British, it gave me a different way of doing the character so I decided to do a British song."

"I did David Bowie, "Ziggy Stardust." I'd quite like Adam to sing it in the future. I don't know if you know the lyrics to "Ziggy Stardust" but once I'd chosen this song I realized the lyrics make no sense at all. But I sang it valiantly."
