'Glee' cast and crew react to broadcast of Cory Monteith tribute episode

Last night (October 10) marked the broadcast of the Cory Monteith tribute episode on 'Glee'

Entitled 'The Quarterback', the offering paid tribute to the late singer and actor after he was found dead in a Canadian hotel room back in July

Kevin McHale, known for his role of Artie, explained: "Tonight's Glee was made out of a lot of love & a lot of tears by our incredible crew, cast & creators for our friend Cory. We miss you Cory."

Darren Criss, who plays Blaine Anderson on the hit U.S. series, told followers: "Dearest Gleeks, saying goodbye is terribly difficult- we at #glee have had our time. Tonight's ep is not just for Cory, but for all of you."

'Glee' writer and supervising producer Michael Hitchcock tweeted that all of the profits made from sales of the music featured in the episode will be donated to Monteith's favourite charity: "Tomorrow is the Glee episode dealing with Finn's death. The cast & crew saw it yesterday. It was a raw reminder of how much Cory was loved."

"100% of profits made from music sold on tonight's Glee episode will be donated to one of Cory's favorite charities, Project Limelight. Cory Monteith made everyone he met feel special and loved. We can honor him by striving to be as accepting and loving as he was."

The show's creator, Ryan Murphy, simply added: "Thank u for all the kind words tonight. I miss you, Cory."
