Ryan Murphy confirms that 'Glee' will end after season 6

The creator of 'Glee' has confirmed that the show will end for good when the sixth season comes to a close.

The show is only a few episodes into its fifth series, but with the tragic and untimely death of Cory Monteith earlier this year, Ryan Murphy has revealed that he needs to wrap it up after the end of the next season.

He made the confession at a Paley Center event honouring America's FX Networks in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (October 16) and told attendees that he already knows how to finish the show: "The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn's story."

"I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was - he was in it. I knew what the last line was - she said it to him."

"So when a tragedy like that happens, you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we're figuring that out now."
