Global Citizen and Yourope Join Forces to End Extreme PovertyEuropean Festival body Yourope announces partnership with international anti-poverty platform Global Citizen (globalcitizen.org), the content, action and event platform, and Yourope, the European Festival Association, announce an exciting and unique partnership to build the movement to end extreme poverty. The partnership will see Yourope using its association with major European music festivals to promote the online platform and help drive sign up’s of “global citizens” – people who want to learn about and act to end, extreme poverty. Announcing the partnership, Christof Huber, general secretary of Yourope said: Speaking about the partnership, Global Citizen’s Director of Europe Stephen Brown said: Global Citizen is already a well established brand in the US and the UK but is now focused on building the movement across Europe. Its unique action-reward mechanism has already inspired millions of actions from global citizens and secured numerous wins for the world’s poorest people. It is also responsible for The Global Citizen Music Festival in New York’s Central Park every September. Performers include – Jay Z, Beyonce, No Doubt, Neil Young, Foo Fighters and Stevie Wonder – and in will be involved in a music event in Munich in June.
