Hot Chip want to work with Pharrell Williams

Parrell Williams has guested on two of the summer’s hottest chart climbers, so it’s not a surprise that other artists are pleading for his time. Hot Chip frontman Alexis Taylor has said that he would love to collaborate with ‘Get Lucky’ and ‘Blurred Lines’ singer on some new material.

Taylor has been out promoting his side project About Group, who have recently put out a new record called ‘Between The Walls’. Along with chatting up the project, Taylor discussed the influences of the band that made him famous.

Speaking to MTV Hive, Taylor said: "When Hot Chip started, we said in a press release that we were attempting to be like the Neptunes. They were one of our favourite groups and producers. [Pharrell]'s obviously very talented. Any of the bands that I'm in, we'd love to do something with people like that, specifically with him."

Taylor also commented on new material from the band, adding that Pharrell is a continuing influence on their output. “One of the tracks was actually directly influenced by an old Pharrell beat for 'Frontin'’ in some ways. One of the parts, one of the chord progressions, for this untitled Hot Chip song was influenced by 'Frontin'’.”
