Iggy Pop poses nude for life drawing class in New York

Iggy Pop has posed in the buff for a life drawing class at the New York Academy Of Art.

The fruits of the class' labours will go on display at an exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum in the autumn.

A picture of the singer posing in the nude at the class has been uploaded online - check it out below.

The project, which is the brainchild of London-based artist Jeremy Deller, involves 21 artists.

Deller commented: "The life class is a special place in which to scrutinise the human form. As the bedrock of art education and art history, it is still the best way to understand the body.

"For me it makes perfect sense for Iggy Pop to be the subject of a life class; his body is central to an understanding of rock music and its place within American culture.

"His body has witnessed much and should be documented."

Iggy Pop meanwhile will release his Josh Homme collaboration album 'Post-Pop Depression' on March 18.
