James Blunt admits 'You're Beautiful' became annoying

James Blunt understands why people might have found his hit single 'You're Beautiful' annoying.

The singer-songwriter released the tune in 2004 and its huge success and lovelorn nature eventually saw the track become a bit of a joke.

Speaking to Hello!, Blunt said that he acknowledges that people being "force-fed" the song would eventually turn people off it.

He said: "There was one song that was force-fed down people's throats, 'You're Beautiful', and it became annoying, and then people start to associate the artist with the same word."

Blunt added: "The marketing also painted me out as an insanely serious person, an earnest person and, as all my friends know, I'm anything but. I have a couple of over-emotional miserable songs that I'm known for, but I think it's turned that corner now."

The musician was named in 2008 as the fourth most "annoying thing in life".
