James Morrison axes rest of UK tour, offers explanation

Crooner James Morrison has released an official statement to explain to his fans why he's been cancelling dates on his current UK tour.

The singer-songwriter is halfway through a run of live dates in support of his latest studio album, 'The Awakening', but has been postponing some of the shows due to "doctor's orders". Last night (February 15), the 'You Give Me Something' hitmaker explained the reason behind the cancellations and wrote:

"Hi guys. I'm really so sorry about the gig postponements. I've picked up an annoying throat infection and the doctors say I mustn’t sing for a few more days yet or it will just get worse. I’ve had no option but to postpone the rest of the UK tour and rest up."

"I'm gutted - particularly as these UK shows have been some of the best that I've ever played and you guys have been absolutely amazing!! I know people have travel plans messed up and will be put out by this and I am genuinely sorry. But we're already working hard to reschedule all of the postponed shows for later in the year, so I look forward to seeing you guys very soon. Please bear with me and I’ll be back as soon as I can."
