Janet Jackson 'wishes' she had performed with Michael Jackson hologram

Over the weekend, a hologram of Michael Jackson delighted his fans around the globe by performing a rendition of 'Slave To The Rhythm' at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards and his sister, Janet Jackson, has now revealed she would have loved to have been on stage beside the projection.

A statement on Janet's official Facebook page confirmed her desire to have performed alongside the hologram of the late King of Pop: "Janet wishes rumours she'd be at the ‪#‎BillboardAwards‬ were right. She never confirmed as her schedule would not permit. She sends wishes for a great event."

After the ceremony's broadcast, Janet posted her own message and admitted that she wished she had been there because it looked amazing: "My brother, Michael, was, is and always will be a genius. I love you, Mike. Janet."

Michael's brother Jackie Jackson has also spoken out in support of the hologram since it appeared on Sunday night in Las Vegasand told People magazine that he would have approved:

"I've been hearing about the hologram, and people were talking about it, but to see it with my own eyes was incredible, amazing. When he got up and started walking around 'oh, my God'. When he started dancing, unbelievable. It took me back. If Michael were here he would say thumbs up!"
