Jarvis Cocker: a "national treasure"

Jarvis Cocker has been praised by today's Guardian newspaper editorial column for becoming a "national treasure", having "joined the ranks of David Attenborough and Pete Ustinov - and become a family favourite".

Cocker joined the ranks of Attenborough and Ustinov, when he narrated the children's story, 'Peter and the Wolf'. Cocker's performances took place at the Royal Festival Hall last week.

The Guardian also praises the Pulp frontman's "bum-waggling stage invasion during Michael Jackson's Brits performance in 1996", and songs which are "unfriendly to radio playlists".

Pulp have reformed and play a series of concerts in 2011, notably the Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park and Spain's Primavera Sound festival.
