Jason Derulo has confirmed that he has broken up with Jordin Sparks.

The long-term couple had been together for about three years, but they have now gone their separate ways.

The news emerged before Derulo was to appear on KDWB radio on Thursday (September 25) and the singer honoured his commitment.

When asked if he would comment on the split, the US star replied: "I'd rather not."

Derulo later added: "Everything is cool. It's not a bad a situation. It's not one of those things."

He confirmed that the duo would stay friends.
