Jason Derulo on Jordin Sparks split: 'There was a lot of tension and pressure in our relationship'

'Trumpets' hitmaker Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks recently ended their three-year relationship and he has now spoken out about the split, admitting that it felt 'time to call it quits'.

Speaking to KIIS-FM, the heartthrob admitted that they felt under a lot of pressure as a couple and it really took a toll on their bond. On Air with Ryan Seacrest underlined the interview in a series of tweets, which read:

"There was a lot of tension in our relationship for a lot of different reasons. There was a lot of pressure of marriage. There was a lot of arguing…stuff that would weigh on our relationship over time. When you stop having more good times than bad times, that’s when it’s time to call it quits.”

Derulo also shared a few thoughts on the situation over the weekend and told his fans that it was an amicable split: "I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met [...] Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up, and I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives."
