Heartthrob Jason Derulo has opened up about what he's looking for in a potential new girlfriend now that he has split from Jordin Sparks. 

The pair called time on their three-year relationship last fall, and Derulo has now revealed to E! News that he's hoping to find a woman he can be honest and comfortable with because he is finally ready to date again:

"I am dating. I want somebody that I can talk to and is kind like me and likes to have fun and try new things. I really don't have a type. I think when someone is beautiful, it comes in all shapes and sizes so in terms of looks, I don't have a specific type."

"I don't like anyone that is too boojie cause I am not that boojie so it does not work if that's the case. I like someone that is smart that I can have an intelligent conversation with and someone that desires to take care of me like I desire to take care of them."

Earlier this month, Derulo told Ryan Seacrest that he feels confident with the ladies and would definitely 'go for it' if he met the right person: "You got to be over confident. You only live one time, so if you see that person you want and then you don’t go for it, then that’s going to be in the back of your mind like, ‘Man, what if? What if? What if?’ So you have to go for it every single time."
