Jennifer Lopez announces new single 'First Love'

Jennifer Lopez has announced that her next single will be titled ‘First Love’.

The ‘I Luh Ya Papi’ singer revealed the track as part of a listening party for her forthcoming eighth studio album.

The event was held at Nikita Malibu restaurant yesterday (April 25). Speaking about her upcoming record Lopez explained:

“My topic has always been love. Love in a fairy-tale kind of way [and] praying and wishing for that. After all these years, I've learned that love is something other than what I thought it was.”

Lyrics taken from the single ‘First Love’ include the lines:

“I wish you were my first love/ 'Cos if you were my first/Baby there wouldn't have been no second, third or fourth love."

‘First Love’ was produced by Max Martin who is renowned for his work with the likes of Britney Spears and Katy Perry.

Lopez called Max Martin a “genius” and said: “He's a super producer, maker of great pop hits. I've always wanted to work with him but our paths [hadn't] crossed. I sought him out."

Writing about ‘First Love’ Billboard described the song as an “upbeat, bass heavy second single, which debuts in May, hits hard from jump.”
