JLo on Lin-Manuel Miranda Orlando song: 'The world needs this right now'

Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she was "sitting on" the song 'Love Make The World Go Round' for months and found new meaning in its lyrics after the recent Orlando nightclub massacre, which inspired her to get it released.

Speaking to The Today Show earlier today (July 11), JLo explained that she knew that it was the kind of track the world needed:

"I had this song, called Love Make the World Go Round, I've had it for maybe, eight months. I loved the song, I loved the hook, and when everything happened in Orlando, I kind of heard it in a different way for the first time, and I was like, 'The world needs us right now. The world really needs the message of love being the answer, and that's what really matters and that's what really makes the world go round, nothing else. Hate, anger, it's not gonna get us anywhere.'"

She teamed up with Broadway's Lin-Manuel Miranda to record the song and added that it was hard to track him down: "I stalked him. He was like, 'I have no time!' and he didn't, and I was like, 'We have to do this! I have to get on the phone with him!' and we did, and once a week we spoke and he was like, 'Absolutely, I will do this, I want to do this', and here we are."
