Jennifer Lopez presented with 2,500th star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

International songstress Jennifer Lopez says she is a "proud little girl from the Bronx" after being awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The pop beauty's accolade - which also happens to be the 2,500th star on the infamous Walk - was unveiled yesterday (June 20) in an official ceremony.

Lopez was seen getting emotional throughout the day, as she was joined by twins Max and Emme and backing dancer beau Casper Smart.

The star's parents David and Guadalupe were also in attendance - and looked after the little ones during proceedings.

Lopez took to Twitter during the day to gush about the honour: "Me and my STAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Proud little girl from the Bronx.  #surreal #blessed (sic)."

She also gave thanks to her fans, adding: "Today is only possible b/c of my family, friends & fans. I wouldn't be where I am today w/o all of YOU and your infinite love & dedication. So excited for all of you to share this day with me!!! :) (sic)."

Lopez made a short speech at the event, gushing: "I love you, thank you so much for going on this journey with me. This landmark moment inspires me to work harder and dream bigger for all that is the future. I hope you feel as I do that it was all worth it, and I hope that I have touched your hearts even in a small way."

Jane Fonda - who has co-starred with the singer-and-actress on-screen praised the beauty's work: "She should have an entire block of stars. In my opinion, she's only scratched the surface of what she's capable of."
