JLo: 'I was insecure before I started a family, I worried about my singing constantly'

Songstress, actress and 'American Idol' panelist Jennifer Lopez has revealed that her confidence blossomed after she became a mother.

The beauty has 5-year-old twins, Emme and Max (shown below), and explained to the October issue of Cosmopolitan magazine that before giving birth she was quite insecure and would often beat herself up about things she didn't feel happy with:

"It was after I had kids to be honest (that I became confident). The biggest insecurity I had was my singing. Even though I had sold 70 million records, there was this feeling like, I'm not good at this. And while I was married to Marc, he helped me get over it. He kept telling me, 'You're the only one holding yourself back from reaching your full potential as a singer. You have to let go'...I was always so insecure and just kind of going along."

JLo added: "Then I grew, little by little, and realised, wait a minute, this is not a fluke. I'm not a mistake - I work my ass off. And I know what I'm doing."

Earlier today (September 3), Lopez confirmed that she will return to 'American Idol' as a judge next year and teased that it will be a 'remix', writing on Twitter: "#IDOL2014TheRemix... see ya soon."
