The sultry singer has signed to RedOne's 2101 label, which is a subsidiary of Capitol and ultimately Universal.

In a statement, the producer expressed his delight at snapping up the former American Idol judge, who will release new single 'Live It Up' via the label. He said:

"This is like a dream come true for me. It was amazing to be able to work with Jennifer on so many great records over the past two years and now it is such an honour to have her on my label."

RedOne continued: "She is a creative inspiration and a true global superstar artist who brings so much to everything she does. I feel that this is historic and a wonderful opportunity to launch 2101/Capitol in this way."

Lopez joins the likes of TalkBack, Porcelain Black and Dive Bella Dive on 2101's roster.

The US star is releasing the Pitbull collaboration 'Live It Up' as the first single from her forthcoming new album.

The singer unleashed the song to radio today (May 8) as the former American Idol judge begins her promotional campaign.

Speaking to Z100's Elvis Duran, Lopez said: "To be here, making your tenth album and listening to our single is a dream come true. I just feel so grateful, I don't even know how everything happened."

The singer added: "I think we're going to release this first and then a few singles and then we'll decide when to put the album out. The way the industry is going...I'm more a believer of letting it gain momentum. Let there be demand for the album by putting out some great music first."

A recent video shoot for 'Live It Up' meanwhile was interrupted after gun shots were heard near the Florida beach the clip was being filmed on.

As previously reported, Lopez confirmed recently that she has teamed with Pitbull for her new single 'Live It Up'.

The pair were seen yesterday (May 5) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at a beach location as they recorded the promo clip.

However, things seemingly turned awry when gunshots were apparently fired on the same beach. Reporter Rob Marciano, who was interviewing Lopez at the time, tweeted:

"BREAKING: Gunshots fired on Fort Lauderdale Beach DURING my JLo interview. No kidding. Security scrambled her away. Can hear & see ambulances converging ~400 yards down the street. Police confirming: 'Shots fired. No one hit'. Whew."

'Live It Up' is the first single to be released from the US star's forthcoming new album.

The US star will play the massive Chime For Change event on June 1.

The gig, which aims to raise awareness of women's issues and rights, will also star Beyoncé, Ellie Goulding and Florence + The Machine.

Other names due to perform include Rita Ora, John Legend, Timbaland, Iggy Azalea, Haim and Laura Pausini.

The event has been underwritten by Gucci to make sure money from sales goes to the cause.

The US star is currently working on the follow-up to her 2011 record 'Love?', which hit No.5 in the US upon release.

Speaking to Extra, Lopez confirmed that she has been working with 'Don't Judge Me' star Brown on new material.

She even went as far to say that the sessions have been channeling a Lopez sound of old. The singer said:

"We were in the studio writing songs and getting that whole 'Jenny From The Block' flavour back on."

Lopez added: "We actually worked on a bunch of ideas and we talked about doing a duet together for his album."

"It was very hard to get up in the morning. Very hard. When you're depressed and sad all the time it's very difficult. I felt like my whole life had fallen apart."

The sultry singer's last studio album came in the shape of 2011's 'Love?', which charted at No.5 in the US.

Speaking on Twitter, however, Lopez hinted that a new track produced by RedOne and Cory Rooney is in the offing - and it may land soon. She said:

"Hello LOVE!RS!!!! Are u ready for what's coming??? And maybe sooner than u think! @RedOne_Official @CORYROONEY #dreamteam."

RedOne worked with Lopez on her previous album in the shape of 'On The Floor', 'Papi' and 'Invading My Mind'.

Writing on her official Twitter page earlier today, the 'On The Floor' hitmaker told her fans that she's recording with R&B sensation Chris Brown: "@chrisbrown @CORYROONEY @BEAUcasperSMART @missgillygrace #studiolife #makinghistory #Album10 #SAMEGIRL"

She also uploaded a picture (shown below) of herself posing with the 'Don't Wake Me Up' superstar and producer Cory Rooney, and the fact that she captioned it with the hashtag '#SameGirl' has led her followers to speculate that it might be the record's title.

Back in February, Lopez tweeted that she was in the studio with Future, real name Navyvadius Cash, who is  a rap artist: "Back on the block!! Guess what's coming... @1future #studiolife #10"

An email was sent out to the performers and hosts of the event, which took place last night (February 10), which stated that that overtly provocative and "problematic" outfits, which show "female breasts", "buttock crack" and "the genital region" would not be allowed:

"Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack.Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples."

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest from the event, JLo confessed that the ban was a little extreme but went ahead with her daring outfit (shown left) as the memo didn't mention the showing of legs: "They said nothing about the legs! I thought I was being such a good girl! A little shoulder and a little leg, It (the memo) mentioned things I don't even say in my house around my children."

Other celebrities' outfits (pictured below) were demure and respecful following the warning.

The 'On The Floor' singer and Marc Anthony separated in July 2011 following a seven year marriage.

Lopez admits the hardest thing about the high-profile split has been explaining it to their four-year-old twins Max and Emme.

Speaking to US TV host Katie Couric, Lopez explained: "I actually just wrote a song about it and just recorded it funnily enough, because I wanted to explain to them without out explaining it to them. It is a beautiful song. But there something inside of me that was struggling with that part of things.

She added: "I feel like God gives me the words every time because every time they do it I get a rush of panic through my body and I'm like ''Oh my god, what do I say?' Again it is learning process, like with Marc, and I said maybe we should do some things together."

Anthony filed for divorce in April of last year, and Lopez has since found love with backing dancer Casper Smart .

The stunning singer was on the talk show to promote her new film 'Parker' in which she plays a newly divorced woman, and says shooting the movie was a cathartic process.

She explained: "So she's at the worst point of her life and at that moment when I was doing the movie, I felt the same way. It was the worst time of my life going through the divorce with the kids, so it was kind of a blessing - as these can be sometimes - to be able to use all those emotions and all those feelings and put them somewhere."

The singer filed for divorce from Marc Anthony in April following a seven year marriage.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lopez said that the breakup was like an "explosion" in her life, leaving everything in pieces. She said:

"It was very hard to get up in the morning. Very hard. When you're depressed and sad all the time it's very difficult. I felt like my whole life had fallen apart. What I had known for seven or eight years with my children and everything, it was just...boom! An explosion!"

The singer, who is now in a relationship with dancer Casper Smart, added that she is currently feeling good as she gets her life back on track. Lopez said:

"I feel very good...very youthful and kind of timeless in a sense. I don't think of myself as getting older - I just think of how I feel. I just toured the world and was dancing and singing every single night and I didn't feel I was any less than I was when I was 28. In fact I probably feel better now than I did then!"

She graces the cover wearing a blue cardigan, white shirt and trousers, and is also facing the camera head-on with a blunt fringe framing her face (shown below).

After speculation surfaced that suggested JLo was unhappy with the picture, her manager Benny Medina issued a statement and explained that the reports are untrue, adding that she was actually "very pleased":

"Look at the pictures and read the story! We worked closely with the editors of People and we are very pleased with cover photo and the results all around."

People magazine also opened up about the issue and a spokesperson was quick to dispell the negativity, admitting that the publication "continues to have a productive relationship with her and her team".

In the accompanying interview, the superstar spoke about her relationship anxieties and confessed that she often wonders why her 25-year-old boyfriend is happy to be with her as she is 43: "I ask him, 'Why don't you go find a young girlfriend and get out of here? What do you want with me?' And you think, 'How long is this gonna be?'"

Although JLo is yet to be nominated for an Oscar, she explained to E! that she already knows what she would say to accept the prize if she were every lucky enough to win one:

"I think everybody that has ever taken acting seriously would love to be recognized in that way."

When asked about a potential acceptance speech, the 'On The Floor' hitmaker confessed that she has one planned and "it changes every so often over the years."

She has previously been nominated for a Golden Globe, for her role in 'Selena', and has also been the unfortunate recipient of several Golden Raspberry Awards nominations, or Razzies, which are for the worst performances of the year.

This year, 2013, Lopez picked up a Worst Supporting Actress of the Year Razzie nomination for her character in 'What To Expect When You're Expecting' (shown above, left).

"They ask hard things. They'll say, 'Didn't Daddy used to live here? When is he coming back to sleep here?' And I say, 'Yes he did, but he has his own home now.'"

"I just try to make it Ok for them because that's all I care about. I don't want to damage them in any way."

She also added that her 25-year-old boyfriend, Casper Smart, has helped her to heal, but often wonders why he doesn't want a younger girlfriend because she is 43: "I ask him, 'Why don't you go find a young girlfriend and get out of here? What do you want with me?' And you think, 'How long is this gonna be?'"

"You think, 'Okay, in 10 years I'm going to be like this and you're going to be like that' and … men at that age are … I think all different things. The truth is we don't know what's going to happen. We're loving this moment right now. We make each other happy."

The pair have been in a relationship for some time and 43-year-old Lopez told the February edition of Harper's Bazaar magazine that Casper Smart has been there with her through everything and she couldn't wish for a better partner:

"He's fantastic; he's like my best friend. I can tell him everything, when I'm feeling down, when I'm feeling good. He gives moral support, endless love and support."

Lopez added that while she isn't at her best when she's tired, she enjoys her busy schedule and wouldn't change anything if she had the chance:

"The worst is when I'm tired. It's the overworking, which I've learned to say no to. I'm not my best self. I'm at my best, I think, when I'm giving love. I feel my best, I am my best, I need my best."

"I'm a singer. I'm a dancer. I'm a performer. I'm an actress. That's what I'm supposed to be doing. It makes me a better parent, a better person. I think I can just handle more than the average bear, you know? I make it as simple and as beautiful as I can because my life is kind of big. So I pack my luggage, or dress myself, or comb my kids' hair, pick up their clothes--that makes our life beautiful, you know? There's something very elegant in that."
