Jessica Simpson has today (May 1) revealed that she has given birth to her child.

Simpson and partner Eric Johnson unveiled the news on Simpson's official website, with the baby named Maxwell Drew Johnson.

Maxwell Drew came in to the world at 9 lbs and 13 oz.

Thanking fans and family, they said in a short statement:

"We are grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!"

Simpson had previously posed for an Elle covershoot with herself and her baby bump in the months leading up to the birth.
