Jessie J feels people don't 'appreciate' her voice in the UK

Jessie J believes she is taken less seriously as a vocalist in her native UK than in America.

The singer's stock in the US has risen recently with the release of her Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj collaboration 'Bang Bang'.

It seems this has brought into focus a differing appreciation from the public in the States compared to back home in Britain.

Jessie J told the Daily Mail: "In America they see me as a singer whereas here I feel that people don't appreciate my voice. I've dedicated my life to singing and I want it to be taken seriously.

"Here it seems that all people want to know is what I've had for breakfast and who I'm sleeping with."

The singer meanwhile is due to release her third album 'Sweet Talker' on October 13.

It will feature the single 'Bang Bang', as well as cuts like 'Personal' and the De La Soul collaboration 'Seal Me With A Kiss'.
