Jessie J on new album: 'I wasn't afraid of the pain so I let people make me uncomfortable'

Vocal powerhouse Jessie J has opened up about the recording and creative process for her brand new album, 'Sweet Talker', and revealed that she laid herself emotionally bare, which adds to the depth of the songs that make up the tracklisting.

Speaking to Billboard magazine, the 'Domino' beauty explained that she forced herself outside of her comfort zone and welcomed the pain, as she wanted to create something authentic and that sounded real.

Jessie J explained that she allowed the people she worked with on the record to make suggestions that were a little out there and just went with the flow of things: "I allowed other people to come in and push my control and make me uncomfortable. After my second album, I'm not afraid of the pain."

She went onto add that attending the BRIT Performing Arts School instilled a great amount of discipline and determination in her, which she is so grateful for because it pushes her to always do her best:

"I loved that world. It's very disciplined. There's hundreds of people auditioning for the same part as you, so that mentality is always in my mind."
