Jessie J: 'If I don't break America now, young girls will sneak in and take my place'

Vocal powerhouse Jessie J has revealed that next on her agenda is securing the American market because it's a tough one to crack and she really wants to make it there.

Speaking to Glamour magazine recently, the beauty explained that she is definitely trying to raise her profile in the USA and feels as though there's only a small window for her to establish her name in the country: "It's not a conscious push [to break America]. No, it is a conscious push."

"It's working. Otherwise it's like half making a wedding cake and it being so sick, and then just leaving it. Finish it. It feels like it's now or never because there are young girls coming up behind me, going, 'I'm coming to take your place.'"

The star also told the magazine that she has lofty ambitions for the future, adding: "I want to do charity stuff, a line of perfume, another book. I'd like to write an inspirational book, an acoustic album, have kids, and get married. I want to buy my mum and dad a house outright; I want to buy my sisters' houses outright. I'm nearly 27 and I'm nowhere near done. I feel like I've only just got my foot in the door."
