Jessie J has stressed the importance of being "calm, sane and happy".

The singer took to Instagram on Monday (May 4) to post an inspirational message about finding your own path in life.

She posted a photo of the text 'Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step in your life'.

The Brit added: "You can't make everyone happy. You can't live your life for others' satisfaction.

"What you can do is decide over time, trial and error what is right for you and what you need and want in your life. To feel stress free, calm, sane and most importantly happy. Trust me. It's worth it."

Jessie J meanwhile had previously come under fire online for appearing to unfollow fans on Twitter.

The singer stated that she was simply reducing her following count.
