New interview with Jessie J about upcoming album "R.O.S.E." and more

Jessie J has opened up in a brand new interview this week (Listen below).

The singer-songwriter, who is one of the biggest stars to have come out of the UK, addressed her new album, "R.O.S.E.", and spoke in length about her break from the spotlight after the release of 2014's "Sweet Talker", when she almost gave up music to preserve her mind and "sanity".

Addressing the dark period that she went through, Jessie said:

"I didn't want to do music. I was finding myself spiralling into something I didn't want to do. I was like, 'I'm done. I need a break. I just need to step away to work out where I'm at.'

"I just said, 'I'm not saying yes to any shows'."

The singer admitted to Beats 1 Radio: "I said no to all features. I just stopped putting things in my diary to mask how I was feeling.

"It's like not wanting to be in a relationship, but going on dates. You just need to stop.

"It's hard when there's money and there's opportunity and things that come your way. You're like, 'Do I?' But my mind and my sanity was more important than anything else and I just had to stop and go, 'Be calm, Jess'."

The Essex-born star also spoke about suffering from an irregular heartbeat condition named Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, as well as writing her new album by herself, which was entirely produced by DJ Camper.

The "Think About That" singer, who has already accomplished 13 top 40 UK singles and 3 UK number ones, says that even though she's experienced a whirlwind of global success at such a young age, these days success to her means waking up every morning feeling comfortable with herself, how she's feeling, and where she is at in her life.

The star performed last night (October 11) at KOKO in London and is set to play the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in the UK capital tonight (October 12).

Jessie J is scheduled to release her upcoming album "R.O.S.E" next year.
